Painting Tuition & Mentoring

I’ve been teaching drawing and painting, alongside developing my own practice, for over twenty years; from teaching in busy results-driven colleges to working one-to-one with artists in my studio.  I currently teach community-based art courses as well as private workshops and one-to-one mentoring.

Art Classes in York

VIEW NEW COURSES COURSES NOW - STARTING JANUARY 2026

I teach regular drawing and painting classes in and around York, from beginners to professional artists. Most courses are currently offered termly through York Learning - though I also run some private groups from time to time. If you’d like to join a group course then get in touch or follow the links below that will take you to the York Learning website.

One-to-One Studio Sessions

If you’re wanting bespoke support and tuition I offer one-to-one sessions at my studio. Here we can look at anything from technical advice, skill-based workshops, portfolio reviews or art project planning. Tuition in these sessions is entirely tailored to your requirements, based on a free introductory visit or call so please get in touch if you want to discus your ideas.

Artist Mentoring

Mentoring is personal and tailored to the individual so please get in touch and let’s see if we can work together.

Artist-to-artist mentoring encourages deep discourse and conversation around your own practice with the benefit of having someone to be accountable to and keep you motivated. Areas that you might need support with include smart goal setting, planning a new body work, finding your voice as an artist, portfolio review and applications and exhibiting. Mentoring is a peer-to-peer process and everything is tailored to the individual artist. If you want to combine mentoring with practical tuition sessions that can be done too.

Please email me or use the form on this page to get in touch and take your next step. I look forward to hearing from you!
